Innovation Description: Ibrahima Soumano (our founder) witnessed first hand the huge impact a small value of a phone credit can have on someone living in rural Africa and the satisfaction it gave him to have touched one a single soul with such a small action. He decided to offer the millions of people in the diaspora to experience the same satisfaction. So with his co-founder Takwana, they built a platform that allowed the diaspora to send small value phone credit directly to loved ones wherever they are in the world. The credit received will ensure families members keep connected for phone calls or online for WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger conversations.
As we grew, our community of users literally were dictating our products roadmap by requesting bill payments and money transfer. We listen to them and try to build only services that we believe we can have a real impact on our stakeholders, from the emotional satisfaction on both the send and receive side to reducing the cost of remittance which we are very conscious of.

Over the past two and half years we have grown to build a comprehensive Remittance Hub integrating several Fintech partners who are solutions providers as well as businesses and organisations looking to impact end beneficiaries. To date we have a reach 4 billion mobile phones spanning 500 mobile network operators in 150 countries.
We have allowed Business reach more customers outside of their natural geographies by integrating their services and educate our customers on the benefits.
Our integration with Ulula helps improve migrants workers poor working conditions in LATAM whilst our partnership with Phone Credit For Refugees help families that have been separated to reconnect with the magic of a mobile phone top-up. Afrisight is another organisation we allow collect surveys through our Airtime as Reward Program for the FMCG industry, where beneficiaries are every day people in low income countries. Senditoo is a personal experience that has turned into a business impacting millions of lives everyday across multiple countries.

Why do you think you should win this category?
We built a web platform and our apps with our users input. They literally built our product map for through a constant dialog we have with them.
Initially only available on www.senditoo.com, we quickly built both an android and iOS app to satisfy our customers need with a UX and UI that the community shared with us. As we understand that we need to give our customers ways they are comfortable with in order to transact, we quickly thought of developing chatbots on their most popular social platform -ie: facebook. It is possible for anyone with a facebook account send instant mobile phone credit to 150 destinations we cover in a few clicks. We are currently working expanding this channel by adding WhatsApp as a way of sending.
Our B2B customers were won over by the custom API specifically designed to meet their needs and this has ensured a growing and trusting partnership and offered them more opportunities to scale.
