Innovation Description: Ripple has partnered with Xendpay and Global Giving to develop a workflow for remittances through which users can make a payment and in the process choose between different charities which support local communities in the destination country and make donations for free.
Innovation Inspiration: We wanted to create social impact in countries where Xendpay customers make payments to and also develop a process which allows customers to easily support charities without having to spend their own money.
Who benefits from the innovation most?People in regions of the world which are less fortunate than others, supported by charities our customers select during the payment process.
For Xendpay, this solution is a unique selling proposition and value add for their customers.
What are you most proud of about your innovation? The opportunity to develop a solution with great partners, which ‘gives back’ to local communities and allows users to freely choose between different charities was the biggest motivation.
One of the main challenges was the technical integration of the charity process during the payment flow.
We are not aware of similar solutions in the market and hope we can lead the market by this example.
